Project Manager

Xherri is PPNEA’s project coordinator of “Land of Eagles and Castles II” and “Egyptian Vulture New Life”.

His research interests are sustainable tourism and cultural & natural heritage studies. He is PPNEA’s drone pilot.

Sabina Çano

Project assistant

Sabina is working at PPNEA as a project coordinator since 2018 for the project dedicated to the most endangered marine mammals on Earth, Mediterranean Monk Seal. She is coordinating the project in Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park. Sabina’s research interests are not limited, she is also involved in projects related to conservation and evaluation of plant habitat, in which is working on the wetland plant mapping on Prespa area.

Ledi Selgjekaj

Project assistant

Ledi has joined PPNEA firstly as a volunteer and currently she is working as a Project assistant in the project for the conservation of Egyptian vulture in Albania. She is an Environmental Biologist and has a high interest in the conservation of nature issues, mostly in biodiversity protection and conservation. Ledi is focused mainly on the field of Ornithology. She was part of BirdID 2018 course and now she is a keen birdwatcher, able to identify different bird species.

Aleksandër Trajçe

Executive director at PPNEA

Aleksandër has been involved with nature conservation work in Albania since 2004, being affiliated with PPNEA, starting as a volunteer first and later on to becoming a wildlife researcher and project manager, and lastly, since January 2018, as this organisation’s executive director. He has an MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford (2009-2010) and a PhD in Environmental Anthropology from the University of Roehampton, London (2013-2017).

Klejn Ngracani

Communication officer

Klejn in a Communication Sociologist graduated at the University of Tirana.

He is particularly interested in Framing Analysis, Agenda Setting, as well as Critical Discourse Analysis, along with their application at the environmental discourses in society.

Eliona Pujo

Financial Officer

Eljona joined PPNEA in 2018 as a financial officer and she is working day-to-day accounting, invoice and HR. She has a diploma in education and another one in financial and administration management. Before joining PPNEA she has worked for different national and regional companies and has a vast experience in this field for 18 years. Eljona loves traveling and enjoys organisation of open air events

Ilva Alushi

Local officer

Ilva Alushi is our local officer for the Region of Vlora and Gjirokaster. Her experiences as Assistant Professor at the Department of Biology, University of Vlora and Management Specialist at Regional Administration of Protected Areas Vlore, brought her on focus to work about the promotion of sustainable tourism.

Soraldo Nebo

Local officer

Soraldo Nebo is our local officer in the region of Saranda. He is particulary interested in sustainable tourism and constantly helps to improve this sector in his hometown, Ksamil.

Despite the fact that he runs a local NGO, he has joined our PPNEA team for contributing even more to the promotion of sustainable tourism.

Soraldo helps us implement the project “Land of Eagles and Castles”.

Lumturi Xhani

Local Officer

Lumturi Xhani helps us implementing the “Land of Eagles and Castles” project in the region of Saranda.

She has a long experience as a teacher and recently she has been involved in several NGO projects.

Sonila Hyseni

Project Assistant

Sonila is an environmentalist, hiker and nature lover.
She started as a volunteer at PPNEA with ‘Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme’ and now she works as a Project Assistant in several projects, such as: ‘Mediterranean Monk Seal’, ‘Land of Eagles and Castles’, ‘Egyptian Vulture New Life’. She is interested in learning as much as possible about nature, animals and the human-nature connection.
She has an MSc in Management & Marketing from the European University of Tirana (2018-2020).
